Keep in mind that, when I crack any whip over anyone as an editor, it's because 1. I care, 2. he/she is worth it, and 3. so is his/her writing. I am a real intellectual snob, I don't bother with people who aren't worth my time. And do remember that your brain goes through cycles just like seasons; although not necessarily tied to the seasons of the planet, your brain does have its dormant winter (reflection), the emergence of spring (new ideas), the activity if summer ( production), and the slowing of fall (change, as in editing and rewriting). They aren't necessarily in order, but I find that often they are on a given project. Once I recognize which 'season' I am in at the time, it's a lot easier for me to reconcile what I am (or am not!) accomplishing at the time. ;D
